In the UK, the body responsible for assessing drugs and treatments (NICE) acknowledges the benefits of acupuncture in the treatment of back pain, facial pain, nausea and headaches.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) also lists many conditions as having a strong basis in clinical research for acupuncture treatment.

The British Medical Acupuncture Association states that modern research shows that acupuncture “can affect most of the body’s systems – the nervous system, muscle tone, hormone outputs, circulation, antibody production and allergic responses, as well as the respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems.”

For the most up to date information, The British Acupuncture Council provides a range of current and ongoing research on conditions which may benefit from acupuncture treatment.

Diagnosing and treating your medical condition from an acupuncture perspective means that often, more than one symptom may be relieved during a course of treatment.

Each individual is unique and consequently their state of health is unique too, when anyone becomes ill the symptoms can vary hugely from others diagnosed with the same condition. I use a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture theory to diagnose your underlying issue and then incorporate both to create each treatment individually for your specific needs.

Please feel free to get in touch with any questions you may have regarding acupuncture and to discuss what I can do for you.
