Maddy Sharp offers Traditional Acupuncture and Fertility Acupuncture in the Solihull area of the West Midlands.
With over 17 years experience Maddy works with a wide range of age groups; including children, teenagers, adults and elders. She specializes in women’s health from puberty through to menopause with post graduate training in all aspects of fertility.
What is Acupuncture?
The origins of Acupuncture stretch back for over two thousand years. Practiced and developed throughout Asia and parts of India, Acupuncture has consequently spread worldwide.
Acupuncture treatment is based on the understanding that the body needs a flow of energy to function effectively. Physical illness, injury, or stress can ‘block’ the energy flow and creat symptoms of feeling unwell and being ‘out of balance’.
By inserting fine stainless steel needles to stimulate very precise points in the body, Acupuncture can be used to restore balance to the system and to reset the body’s natural flow of energy. Importantly, medical recommendations as to which conditions Acupuncture can effectively treat vary. The British Acupuncture Council, of whom I’ve been a member for over 17 years, provide a range of current and ongoing research on the benefits of acupuncture treatment.
